Florida Toddler Called ‘F***ing Faggot’ For Pink Headband [Video]
Florida mom and HuffPo blogger Katie Vyktoriah’s pink headband horror story involving her son, gender identity, Walmart, and a troubling tale of adult on toddler bullying has gone viral — with widespread outrage at the incident being expressed by readers.
The tale of the toddler with a pink headband may have been shared by your friends on Facebook, and more than 40,000 people have posted the upsetting story to their Timelines.
According to the mom, her son Dexter insisted upon wearing a pink headband to Walmart, and in the interests of avoiding a tantrum, she didn’t press the issue.
The mom says that her son “rocked” the hair accessory, and was having a great time until two young girls asked whether Dexter was a boy or a girl. Katie Vyktoriah says she explained that Dexter is a boy, and what happened next (by her account) angered many HuffPo readers.
She says:
“Out of nowhere a big booming voice rang out. ‘THAT’S a BOY?!’ The man was overly large with a bushy beard and a camouflage shirt with the arms cut off. He had tattered shorts and lace-up work boots with no laces. I could smell the fug of cigarette smoke surrounding him, and there was a definite pong of beer on him… the man stepped forward, grabbed the headband off of Dexter’s head and threw it to the bottom of our shopping cart. He then cuffed Dexter around the side of his head (not hard, but that is not the point) and said with a big laugh, ‘You’ll thank me later, little man!’ ”
After Dexter screamed at the strange man, the mom says she shook and replied:
“If you touch my son again, I will cut your damn hands off.”
She adds:
‘The guy snarled at me, looked at Dexter with disgust and said, ‘Your son is a f*cking fa***t.’ He then started sauntering out, but not before he threw over his shoulder, ‘He’ll get shot for it one day.’ ”
Whether the story of Dexter’s pink headband and Walmart bullying occurred exactly that way is unconfirmed, as we only have the blogger’s account to go by. After the piece picked up, she did a HuffPo Live segment to discuss the troubling incident — which you can watch above.
