Kate Hudson revealed her secret connection to Prince William on Wednesday night during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Hit the video to see and hear for yourself what she said, because I’m not sure that it really made a whole heck of a lot of sense.
According to the 34-year-old Almost Famous star, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Princess Diana were staying at the Colorado house owned by Hudson’s mother Goldie Hawn and her longtime partner Kurt Russell.
So that’s a little weird. Couldn’t the royal entourage afford to just book a hotel?
And the royal family didn’t come to visit Hawn, Russell, or their kids. They didn’t even meet them. Kate Hudson and the rest of her family were staying in Los Angeles at the time.
But that’s what she said.
The rest of the story is that Hudson’s stepdaddy Russell got a phone call from Prince William asking if he could use the ATV [all terrain vehicle]. Hudson thinks we’re idiots and don’t know what that is, so she hastens to explain that ATVs are “those four-wheeled thingys.”
As for the little boy on the other end of the phone? Was it really the prince?
“I think it was Prince William,” Hudson said.
I think it could have been anyone based on a child’s creative imagination remembered over two decades later. But maybe I’m just too cynical.
So now you know how Kate Hudson thinks she almost kinda mighta talked to Prince William, except her stepfather picked up the phone instead.
Or something like that.
This silly story is being widely reported. I have to give it to Jay Leno. I don’t think I could have kept a straight face while listening to that one.
I mean there are dumb blondes. And then there are complete idiots.
Does anyone think this Prince William phone call really happened? My advice to Kate Hudson: If you’re going to tell a completely ridiculous story, at least make it a good one.
