Lauren Silverman Already Splitting With Husband When She Got Pregnant With Simon Cowell
Lauren Silverman was already in the process of splitting with her husband when she got pregnant with one of his good friends, Simon Cowell.
The X Factor judge hasn’t spoken about the relationship or having a baby with his friend Andrew Silverman’s wife, but sources close to Lauren said she was already planning to leave her husband is much happier now in her relationship with Cowell.
“She is ecstatic to be with Simon,” a source told People magazine, noting that Cowell and Lauren Silverman have been together for a few months now.
The source said her affair with Simon Cowell was one factor in the split, but Andrew and Lauren already had plenty of other problems.
“It was probably not the best relationship when she first met Simon,” the source said. “It wasn’t like they were blissfully in love at the time.
“She was definitely unhappy in her marriage and it’s been a while that the marriage was not great. Andrew is a very nice guy but all marriages don’t last.”
The source added that Simon and Andrew aren’t even the closest of friends.
The couples were at one point close enough to vacation together, like in January 2012 when Simon and Lauren were spotted together during a joint trip to St. Barths. But as Lauren and Andrew grew apart, she and Simon became closer.
“Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while,” a source says in the August 12 issue of Us Weekly. “As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close.”
An insider said the 36-year-old Silverman now plans to divorce Andrew to be with Simon Cowell.
It might be a bit of a difficult transition for Cowell, who has said publicly in the past that he doesn’t want to have kids.
“God, no. I couldn’t have children,” he once said. “With kids, you’ve got a routine you can’t escape from.”
Simon Cowell now has a few months to get ready for children — an insider said Lauren Silverman is about 10 weeks pregnant.
