Glenn Beck on Diane Sawyer: I Was Her ‘Little B***h’ [Video]
Glenn Beck claims he was Diane Sawyer’s “bitch” before she became a “bigot.”
On his radio show this morning, Beck went off on an unusual tangent and talked about working with his former TV colleague.
Beck worked with Sawyer, the current ABC World News anchor and former Good Morning America host, when he was briefly employed by ABC News.
Sawyer apparently had far-reaching expectations for their collaboration, which got to the point of annoying his wife during non-working hours, Beck claimed: “When ABC hired me, I was Diane Sawyer’s little bitch… She would call me up — my wife was like, ‘What’s going on with you and Diane Sawyer?'”
Beck said that Sawyer would pester him with calls and emails about her big plans all the time: “We’re going to change television, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.” But the constant communication came to a halt abruptly when the Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) intervened, according to Beck.
“What happened? This is my opinion. CAIR went down and said to ABC ‘you put him on… you don’t isolate him, we’re going to boycott — not [just] ABC — we’re going to boycott ABC and we’re going to boycott your Disney park.’ ”
Continued Beck: “Well Disney can’t have that. So what happens? All of the sudden, I can’t even get Diane on the phone. I’m like, ‘Hey, what happened? Hello?’ Nothing. Finally about eight months later, she has lunch with me, and she becomes the biggest bigot I’ve ever seen in my life, and I”m like ‘you’ve got to be kidding me.’ ”
Beck ended the sequence by asserting that “corporations are afraid of extremists.”
The controversial commentator then got sidetracked and never specifically explained why Sawyer became a bigot. Maybe he’s saving that for another broadcast.
Do you think that the Glenn Beck Diane Sawyer anecdote is accurate?
