Gwyneth Paltrow Claims Master Cleanse Made Her Hallucinate
If you want to have a butt like Gwyneth Paltrow, then you might have to hallucinate a little.
The actress and health nut recently dished on how she manages to have a rump like a “22-year-old stripper” at the age of 40. In an article she recently penned for The Telegraph, Paltrow talked about the dos and don’ts of living a healthy life.
“I’ve done juice cleanses in the past, and in my twenties I did the Master Cleanse, which left me hallucinating after 10 days. Be aware: a juice detox can crash your metabolism and lead to future weight gain,” the actress explained.
However, just because Gwyneth Paltrow is eliminating all sorts of horrible things from her body doesn’t mean she doesn’t cheat every once in a while. The Iron Man 3 star revealed that she occasionally takes a walk on the wild side.
“Allow yourself programmed treats — I often have a glass of red wine in the evening and smoke a cigarette on a Saturday,” she explained in her column.
The actress added, “I love those moments because they are just the right amount of naughty. That balance keeps you vibrant. You have to live your life, after all.”
If the very thought of hallucinating makes you want to run screaming for the nearest dollar menu, then you can always try the Elimination Diet. Paltrow removed additives and processed foods from her dinner plate without any bizarre side effects. However, she did offer up a warning to potential dieters.
“Stay away from processed foods, though cutting them out completely is no fun and can ultimately lead to a binge,” the actress explained.
Paltrow also recommended getting up off the couch every once in a while to enjoy a bit of exercise. According to her, it makes all the difference in the world.
“We sit for so much of the day. Choose to walk or take the stairs, or briskly climb a hill in the evenings. It creates good muscle tone and boosts your metabolism,” she said.
