Bachelorette Finale: Brooks Is Just Not That Into Desiree Hartsock
The Bachelorette had a shocking finale in which suitor Brooks confessed to Desiree Hartsock that he didn’t want to be on the show anymore — and that was all just part one.
This year ABC had such an action-packed finale of the popular reality series that it decided to split it up into two parts. The first did not disappoint, as Hartsock went on final fantasy suite dates with Chris, Drew, and Brooks.
Viewers were poised to find out which of the three the Bachelorette would be sending home, but never got the chance. Brooks did it for her.
When it came time for Desiree and Brooks to have a date, Brooks instead confessed that she was “not the love of my life.” He told a tearful Desiree that he would no longer be on the show.
It came as quite a shock to the Bachelorette herself, who earlier in the episode admitted she had deeper feelings for Brooks than the other two finalists.
In an interview before Part 1 of the Bachelorette finale aired, Desiree Hartsock said it was difficult trying to get inside the minds of more than 20 potential suitors, but that she would not approached the experience any differently.
“It’s really hard to know what the guys really feel and what their motivations might be for saying and doing things,” Hartsock said. “That’s why you have to picture them in your life day-to-day and ask, ‘Okay, is this gonna work? Could we go to Costco together? Would I want to vacation with this person? Would they be a good dad and husband?’ ”
Though the situation was not the easiest, Desiree said she was glad she went through with it.
“I’m glad that I did it,” she said. “Definitely. It’s my life and I think it is raw emotion and real feelings. Everyone has to handle those in their life at some point. The feelings that happened on the show are real, at least they were for me. I am not that good of an actress.”
Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock will now choose between Chris and Drew on next week’s finale — as long as one of the guys doesn’t bow out first.
