Hillary Clinton ‘Livid’ Over Anthony Weiner Scandal Comparisons

Hillary Clinton is reportedly “livid” over comparisons between the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal and her husband’s own presidential indiscretions.

According to the New York Post, the Clintons are angry with Anthony Weiner over his efforts to compare his sexting scandal to Bill’s own notorious sexcapades when he was president. A particular point of contention are the comparisons drawn between Huma Abedin and Hillary, both of whom stood by their husbands through their respective scandals.

Unnamed by The Post, a “top state Democrat” slammed the comparisons, rooted in “that Huma is ‘standing by her man’ the way Hillary did with Bill, which is not what she in fact did.”

“The Clintons are pissed off that Weiner’s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary,” the source continued. “How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state.”

Abedin herself is a longtime Clinton aide and friend, and Hillary is reportedly completely surprised that she is standing by her husband after he admitted to sending lewd text messages and photos to other women long after he resigned from Congress in 2011.

“Hillary didn’t know Huma would do this whole stand-by-your-man routine, and that’s one of the reasons the Clintons are distancing themselves from all this nonsense,” the source said.

Another insider rumor suggests that Hillary Clinton is close to going public with sharp criticism of Weiner, and a call for him to step down. It is thought that the Clintons’ ties to Weiner and Abedin could affect her presidential chances in 2016, should she choose to run.
