Alec Baldwin Turned Down Role In Marvel Movie
Alec Baldwin claims to have turned down the chance to play a villain in a Marvel movie.
During his appearance on Howard Stern’s show, the former 30 Rock star was asked if he’d ever been approached by the studio. Although the actor didn’t say which movie he turned down, Baldwin said he was once given the opportunity to play a bad guy.
“I have, but I won’t mention which one. I don’t want to undo somebody because they hired someone else to do it. But they asked me to play a villain in one of these Marvel Comics movies,” Alec Baldwin said.
He added, “I wasn’t available; they wanted me to work a certain time. And because of my wife’s pregnancy, I had to turn down two films this summer that I wanted to do.”
Since Baldwin refused to say which Marvel movie he was up for, the topic is definitely ripe for speculation. There are currently a handful of productions underway this summer. Included in that list are The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
It’s also a possibility that Alec Baldwin was approached to star in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Unless the Beetlejuice star comes clean at some point down the line, you’ll just have to use your imagination.
When he isn’t stirring up trouble on Twitter, the actor still finds the time to do a bit of acting. Baldwin can currently be found in director Woody Allen’s latest cinematic endeavor Blue Jasmine. The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Andrew Dice Clay, and Louis C.K.
Baldwin is expected to appear in director Stefan Ruzowitzky’s upcoming thriller Caught Stealing. The actor will be joined by The Conjuring star Patrick Wilson. The film is slated for release next year.
