Action star Vin Diesel isn't quite ready to stop blowing things up on the big screen just yet.
The busy actor has reportedly signed on to star in the upcoming action-adventure flick World's Most Wanted. The original draft of the script was penned by Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples. However, Dan Mazeau will provide a rewrite before the story goes in front of the camera.
According to reports, Neal Mortiz and Vin Diesel will produce the movie. The pair were responsible for bringing both Fast and the Furious and xXx to the big screen. This pair's success in the past definitely bodes well for their latest endeavor. A release date has not been set.
Unfortunately, there are currently no plot details for World's Most Wanted making the rounds as of this writing. Chances are the picture will involve Diesel running around, dodging hundreds of bullets, and beating people up. That seems to be the actor's M.O. these days.
Speaking of the xXx franchise, Vin Diesel recently dropped hints on Facebook about a possible sequel. The Fast and Furious 6 star posted an image that claimed Xander Cage had been found alive. However, the actor stopped short of officially announcing a follow-up.
Diesel and director Rob Cohen attempted to get the third installment of the franchise up and running back in 2009. However, both parties dropped out of the flick without so much as an explanation. After years of dormancy, it would appear that the series is primed for a comeback.
In the meantime, Diesel and David Twohy are preparing to release the R-rated sci-fi flick Riddick. The movie is slated to arrive in theaters across the US on September 6. If you haven't seen Pitch Black or The Chronicles of Riddick, now's your chance to get caught up on the story.
