Dog The Bounty Hunter Wife Wanted For Harassing Teen, Allegedly
Dog The Bounty Hunter wife Beth Chapman has been accused of harassing a teenage girl in Monument, Colorado.
The allegations were made earlier this month and a warrant for Chapman’s arrest was issued last Friday, according to a report from Gazette.com.
Chapman has denied any criminal wrongdoing in the case and told RadarOnline that the “only thing this girl got was a tongue lashing that her mother should have given her before she left the house that day in her Daisy Dukes with her butt cheeks hanging out.”
Chapman family attorney Gary Lozow added in comments to Gazette.com that “Perhaps once all the facts are kind of brought to the fore and there’s kind of an overview by law enforcement of what happened, hopefully this matter will be over.”
The girl’s name was not mentioned in the report, only that she is a 16-year-old student at Lewis-Palmer High School.
So what could have happened to rile the young lady enough to file charges of harassment against the Dog The Bounty Hunter wife? The girl said that she and her boyfriend had driven up to Monument Lake.
Once there, the girl stepped out of the car “and Beth starts yelling at her, calling her a tramp, slut and whore,” the police report stated. The girl then “walked over to her friend’s car and can still hear Beth calling her a tramp and stupid teenager.”
Yikes.
Lozow would not share the version of events according to Beth Chapman, but did say that if the case went to the courts, “she would be exonerated.”
“It isn’t the time to kind of be trying an accusation, which we’re just getting the details on, in the press,” Lozow added.
But while Lozow was tight-lipped, the Dog The Bounty Hunter wife, 45, had no issue sharing her side of the story to RadarOnline. According to her, a young man was driving “dangerously close” to Chapman and her kids, ages 12 and 14, and 11-year-old grandson.
“The passenger emerged from the vehicle — she was young and dressed inappropriately, drinking beer, and obviously out for a good time. I told her and the driver, ‘You need to slow down or I will call the cops,'” Chapman said.
“She began to laugh and smirk and then told me, ‘These cops won’t do anything!’ I told her if they didn’t slow down, I’d call anyway.”
After the girl left, Chapman said, two males approached the family to ask for pictures and autographs but had their hands “resting atop some type of firearms.”
Chapman reportedly asked the men for their concealed carry permits and demanded they leave. Following that incident, she placed a call to Monument Police to inquire about concealed carry permits and how they apply to public areas and parks with children present, but left before officers arrived.
According to police, they did receive a call asking about open carry of a firearm and dispatched officers to Monument Lake for a follow-up.
Sergeant Mark Owens said in a report that he met the two men, one carrying a firearm in a holster on his right hip.
The men told Owens they’d just seen Duane “Dog” Chapman and his family at the lake and accused Beth Chapman of “being really mean” to a teenage girl.
“They said as they were leaving, Beth started yelling (at the girl) again, saying, ‘You better run away you little tramp,'” the police report stated. “The male carrying the firearm said the whole Chapman family left the area right after that and as they were leaving, one of the black Suburbans occupied by the Chapmans, nearly backed into his new Mustang and then ‘peeled out’ as they left.”
The last year or so certainly hasn’t been a good one for the Chapman family. While CMT ordered 10 new episodes of the series in September, that was only after A&E, the family’s long-running partner, dropped the series In May 2012.
It’s still too early to tell how the new series will do. The season of the DOG definitely appears to be in its twilight years, but with filming scheduled to begin this year — and it may very well be underway — it’ll be interesting, especially since America seems to have a new favorite family in the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty fame.
The last year has also found Duane Chapman allegedly receiving death threats. More on that here:
As for Dog The Bounty Hunter wife Beth Chapman, do you think she or the 16-year-old are telling the truth?
