Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar Adds Topher Grace
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, an upcoming science fiction film about space exploration, has added actor Topher Grace to the cast.
Deadline reports that Grace is the latest cast member to join Interstellar, which is described as “An exploration of physicist Kip Thorne’s theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses that Albert Einstein was never able to prove.”
Grace joins Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine.
Interstellar began as a Steven Spielberg film in 2006. His admitted goal was to present a scientifically accurate film about “a group of explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension.”
He hired Jonathan Nolan to write the script. Later, Spielberg left as a director and Christopher Nolan was brought on to rewrite his brother’s script and direct the film. Spielberg will reportedly remain on as a producer.
Hoyte Van Hoytema will replace Nolan’ longtime collaborator Wally Pfister as director of photography, as the latter is busy with his directorial debut Transcendence.
The film will feature most of Nolan’s usual crew. It will be scored by Hans Zimmer and produced by Nolan’s own Syncopy Inc.
Nolan will partially shoot the film in IMAX, a film format he is widely recognized for after using it in the Dark Knight, Inception and The Dark Knight Rises.
Principal photography will start in Calgary, Canada in August 2013. The film is expected to be released on November 7, 2014.
And that’s everything we know about Interstellar right now. Of course it’s not much, this is a Christopher Nolan film!
