Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Hit-And-Run
Chris Brown pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a hit-and-run charge related to a minor car accident in May.
Brown had additional charges of driving without a valid license and proof of insurance dropped, but the accident still resulted in the “Don’t Think They Know” singer having his probation revoked. The 24-year-old was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, but is currently free on his own recognizance.
According to TMZ, Brown has until August 6 to go to a police station and get booked for the hit-and-run. Brown will appear in court again on August 15 in that case, and is scheduled to appear in court for a separate probation violation hearing for the Rihanna assault case next month as well.
Unfortunately for Brown, his legal troubles aren’t quite over yet. Last month, Brown was accused of assaulting a girl inside a nightclub in Anaheim after a performance. Deanna Gines said that she was in the VIP section of Heat Ultra Lounge with Brown, and that the bar was just about to close when he shoved her to ground. The 24-year-old said she fell so hard on her knees that she had to get a boot and crutches, and that the injuries may need corrective surgery. Gines also took pictures of her injuries and posted them online.
A representative for the Anaheim Police Department confirmed that a female filed a police report for assault inside the nightclub, but a name was not released.
Brown’s representative said of Gines’ allegations, “I’m unaware of the incident, as is Chris’ lawyer and his entire team. He was in a great mood after Powerhouse. None of this makes sense.”
Earlier this year, Brown got into a scuffle with Frank Ocean outside a recording studio in West Hollywood.
