‘Grand Theft Auto V’ PC Petition Hits 230,000 Signatures
Grand Theft Auto V is headed to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in a little over a month. Unfortunately, Rockstar currently has no plans to release the title on PC.
The decision to only make the game available on these formats understandably irritated a number of folks who shelled out money to play the previous installments on their computer. As a result, a community of GTA fanatics decided to start an online petition.
As of this writing, the petition has surpassed 230,000 signatures. Despite the obvious interest in having Rockstar release Grand Theft Auto V on PC, the company hasn’t made any announcements regarding the issue as of this writing.
“GTA games have been a large part of so many people’s lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have,” the petition reads.
Although a few online retailers began listing GTA V for PC a few months ago, the company has yet to confirm the game’s existence on the format. The folks at Rockstar to addressed the situation during a Q&A session earlier this month.
The company explained:
The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.
Social media can play a huge role in getting companies to bow to fan pressure. If you’re interested in playing the title on PC, be sure to let the developers know that there is serious interest in the port.
