David Boreanaz Jokingly Proposes To Emily Deschanel At Comic-Con
Bones and Booth are getting married during the ninth season of the FOX drama Bones. The Comic-Con announcement included star David Boreanaz proposing to Emily Deschanel in-character.
Last season’s cliffhanger left the couple’s relationship hanging in the balance. Although it could take a while for Bones and Booth to get back to a good place, Deschanel said the characters will eventually tie the knot.
“We come back in the season opener and it still hasn’t been resolved. Brennan’s clearly very upset about the situation. It may take a while for them to be in a good place,” the Bones star explained to the folks at Entertainment Weekly.
After showing off a “sizzle reel” for the new batch of episodes, showrunner Hart Hanson said that fans weren’t exactly thrilled with the way season eight wrapped up. He assured everyone in attendance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Bones and Booth are definitely taking a trip down the aisle.
“Everybody’s mad at Booth for reneging on the engagement. We’re not fooling you, they are going to get married this season,” Hanson explained.
According to Zap2It, the second episode of the upcoming season will find David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel heading to a couples retreat for some much needed rest and relaxation.
“I think that there’s definitely some closure there. You feel as though the character will go on and deal with some issues he was personally dealing with,” he explained.
As far as as a Bones movie is concerned, fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet. It could be a while before the characters make the jump to the big screen.
“For us to do a ‘Bones’ movie, the TV show would have to stop. When the TV show stops, we will talk about doing a ‘Bones’ movie,” Hanson said during the panel.
Production on the ninth season of Bones is currently slated to begin on July 22. The “sizzle reel” is embedded below.
