‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Debuts New Trailer At Comic-Con

A new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released to all those who attended the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday Afternoon.

And just moments before that, the trailer was released online, quickly becoming a popular topic amongst those on social media sites such as Twitter.

According to the LA Times, things have changed for Katnis Everdeen.

“The first half of the clip functions to spell out the political turmoil and social unrest Katniss’ dark horse victory has spurred across the dystopian, postapocalyptic landscape.

“In the trailer’s second half, viewers are introduced to the girl on fire’s new competition, including a couple of blond hunks… an athletic woman who appears highly adept at axe murder and a female contestant with dagger-like teeth.”

During questioning at the Comic-Con, Jennifer Lawrence explained that “Her [Katnis’] life is very different now, she’s struggling from post-traumatic stress from the games. She has a new life; she never has to worry about food. It makes her feel useless in an odd way.”

The Wall Street Journal stated that Jeffrey Wright and Jena Malone, two of the new tributes, were also present on the panel.

“This role makes me one of the coolest parent’s at my kids school,” Wright said.

E! Online reported that the sequel, directed by Francis Lawrence, appears to stay true to the books, showing the rebellion in Panem and Kaniss and Peta’s fear of returning to the arena for an unexpected second go at the Hunger Games.

The Inquisitr reported recently that Catching Fire, the 2013 sequel to the incredibly successful Hunger Games film, is expected to take in about $900 million throughout its theatrical run.

It is no doubt that the new Catching Fire movie trailer will have all Hunger Games fan’s excited and craving the November 22 movie release date. Are you one of those excited Hunger Games fans?
