Disabled Husband Found Covered In Flesh Eating Maggots

A disabled man was found covered in flesh eating maggots inside his Florida home.

Paramedics discovered severe sores covering Greg Tillman’s body when they came to the house. In fact, his wounds were so deep that parts of his bone were showing.

Greg has been bedridden since January after he suffered a bad reaction to a spider bite. His wife, Sharon Tillman, allegedly never took him to see a doctor and just let him rot away in his bed and did nothing when maggots attacked his flesh.

When police came to the home to arrest Sharon, they found piles of trash, soiled gauze and urine collection bags outside. Officer Brian Unmasieg said that they found medical injuries from a lack of medical attention and a lack of care giving

Neighbor Tommy DiTommaso said that he was surprised to learn that Sharon neglected her husband like that.

“She used to come over and ask for things like butter or eggs or money. We always tried to help out because we knew they had fallen on hard times, but I never knew anything like that was going on across the street from my house,” he said.

Sharon was charged with abuse and neglect of a disabled person and is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail. Luckily, her husband is expected to make a full recovery.

In 2010, an Austrian man who was paralyzed after a stroke wasn’t so lucky. He was eaten alive by maggots and died on his way to the hospital.

The maggots ate through the man’s back and parts of his lungs before his partner and caretaker noticed something was wrong. Police questioned his partner and said that he hadn’t been washed in a long time.
