PayPal Makes $92 Quadrillion Mistake
Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are often regarded as two of the richest people on the planet but, for, a few brief hours, they didn’t even compare to Chris Reynolds. PayPal made a $92 quadrillion mistake this week which make Reynolds the richest person on the planet.
Of course, Reynolds only held the title momentarily. The Pennsylvania PR executive won’t be able to keep his $92,233,720,368,547,800.
Reynolds said that he noticed PayPal’s quadrillion dollar mistake on his June statement. Reynolds was expecting to see $0 in his account but noticed a few extra digits next to his name.
Reynolds told CNN: “It’s a curious thing. I don’t know, maybe someone was having fun.”
PayPal quickly corrected the error and Reynolds lost his $92 quadrillion as quickly as he received it. The company thanked Reynolds for understanding that a mistake had been made and told the PR Executive that they would make a donation to the charity of his choice.
PayPal didn’t say how much they would give but it will probably be slightly less than $92 quadrillion.
PayPal said: “This is obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understood this was the case.”
