Brock Lesnar Takes On Stomach Issues At New Jersey Restaurant
Brock Lesnar was forced to retire from the UFC due to diverticulitis, a common digestive disease, but he recently went all out at a Fresco restaurant in New Jersey. The 36-year-old has put his stomach problems to the test, but he also showed his generous side during the hefty meal.
According to a report by TMZ, Lesnar was spotted at the restaurant in Montclair where he had a big meal that cost upwards of $500. His appetite surely hasn’t taken a hit, but his pockets definitely did on Monday.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion also took photos with fans and reportedly left a “very generous” tip before leaving. TMZ also noted that he ate a wide variety of food during the outing, which included Ahi tuna and Chicken Parmesan.
For dessert, the popular fighter took down a piece of cheesecake to top it all off. His career in the ring with the WWE and in the octagon with the UFC ended somewhat early due to his stomach issues, but he isn’t holding back now that he’s retired.
His digestive problems must have improved as he explained in his book, “Death Clutch,” that diverticulitis “felt like I had taken a shotgun blast to the stomach.”
His issues with the disease have led him to the hospital for weekend stays in the past while left bedridden on heavy doses of painkillers. He’s back on his feet now, but not before the “tough guy” battled through the pain after ending his career.
He was sidelined from fighting in 2009 due to his stomach problems and he officially called it quits in 2011 after he lost to Alistair Overeem that December. Earlier in the year, Lesnar had surgery to help cope with the diverticulitis.
He returned to the ring in April of 2012 with the WWE and hes been making appearances on the show ever since.
Do you think Brock Lesnar’s career was cut way too short because of his fight with diverticulitis?
