Ric Flair Arrest Order Issued By North Carolina Judge
Ric Flair has found himself in major trouble after failing to pay spousal support. The former professional wrestling star is in a heated dispute with his estranged wife, Jacqueline Beems, who filed for legal separation a little over a year ago.
A judge in Mecklenberg County, North Carolina has issued an arrest order for Flair after he failed to pay more than $32,000 in spousal support, according to an original report by the Charlotte Observer.
The report explains that Flair, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, was ordered to pay $4,000 a month to Beems to help pay for her car payments, health insurance, and legal fees. According to court documents, Flair’s arrest order was issued on July 3 after he failed to pay Beems $32,352.51.
“The reason I didn’t pay my ex-wife the 32 grand is because my son died and I was in the hospital for a month,” Flair told the Observer. “I was in the hospital for a month with a blood clot. I didn’t go to work for three months.”
Ric Flair is a highly reputable celebrity in the Charlotte area, but his dispute with Jacqueline Beems is making headlines across the nation. The failed payments aren’t the only issue at hand as Beems was also arrested on Tuesday for making a harassing phone call.
Flair explained that Beems has threatened his current girlfriend.
“My girlfriend Wendy Kidder is the mother of four and she has 50 texts and five phone (voice-)mails from my ex-wife,” he said about the incident. “They didn’t give Wendy a warrant for arrest without looking at all of that stuff.”
Flair originally married Beems in November of 2009, but their relationship only lasted three years as Beems filed for separation in June of 2012. Their marriage had its ups and downs along the way, including an altercation in 2010 that led to an assault charge for the popular wrestling star.
