Margot Robbie, Will Smith ‘Focus’ Movie Leads [Report]
Margot Robbie will be the lead actress playing opposite Will Smith in the Warner Bros. caper movie Focus. That’s the report from Variety earlier in the month, which said that the 23-year-old Australian The Wolf of Wall Street actress is in talks with Warner about the role.
The movie about a female con artist would shine a strong spotlight on Margot Robbie’s talent. However, although Variety posted the rumor almost two weeks ago, it doesn’t seem to be confirmed yet.
An MSN UK report on Tuesday noted that it has been a long two-year search to cast Focus, with negotiations breaking down with several A-list stars several times. The original concept was to star Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart were also once considered.
Will Smith is now already signed to Focus, so once Margot Robbie is confirmed, then we can start grumbling about the choice.
But why wait? Crushable writer Alexis Rhiannon got her licks in early:
“Let me throw some math at you. Will’s new leading lady is twenty-one years younger than Will himself, eighteen years younger than his real life wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, eight years older than his son Jaden, eleven years older than his daughter Willow, and only three years older than Trey, Will’s son from his first marriage. Can we please pull it together, Hollywood men? You’re not all that.”
If you want a look at Margot Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street, you might enjoy watching the trailer for the Martin Scorsese directed film. It looked a bit like a rap video to me, but you’ll probably still get a kick out of it if you like images of girls, money, and a rich guy with a chimp. If not, why not?
