Is ‘Man Of Steel’s’ Faora Returning To DC Comics?
If you saw Man of Steel you may remember Faora, the female villan, now she will return to the comic world in Superman/Wonder Woman.
Faora is the Kryptonian antagonist that makes life miserable for Superman in Man of Steel and it was played brilliantly by German actress Antje Traue.
The villain teams up with General Zod, who is played by Michael Shannon and ever since the movie was released fans have been keeping their fingers crossed that she would return to DC Comics.
Well, their dreams seems to be coming true, if the drawings shared by the blog DC Women Kicking Ass are correct then her fans will be thrilled.
According to the blog, Tony Daniel has posted his full pencils for the first issue for the Superman/Wonder Woman Cover and it shows some characters that haven’t been seen for a while.
In Man of Steel, Faora, plays a female character that breaks stereotypes and audiences really seemed to enjoy that.
“I didn’t want to look too much into other interpretations,” Antje said of Faora, “I sat down with Zack and said I would rather just go from scratch and do something new.”
So it was interesting looking at the pencils Daniels posted to see this character standing next to a character who looks like General Zod which is more in tune with Superman II Terence Stamp’s interpretation not necessarily Michael Shannon’s in Man of Steel.
Faora is a character who originated in comics and has made a previous appearance in Smallville TV Show. She has been part of the comics since her debut in 1977’s Action Comics #471.
She was later renamed Zaora and that’s when they teamed her up with the evil General Zod.
Faora is expected to resemble the version from Man of Steel.
Are you excited to see Man of Steel’s Faora returning to DC Comics?
