Charles Ramsey Broke And Homeless? He Says ‘Daily Mail’ Report Is Bulls**t
Cleveland kidnap rescuer Charles Ramsey is broke and homeless. But is he really? In a recent video interview, Ramsey told The Daily Mail about his recent struggles. Ramsey is now complaining that the publication twisted his words.
Ramsey rose to fame when he rescued Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight from captivity. Yesterday the Daily Mail posted a video interview in which Ramsey claimed he was “jobless” and “homeless” despite earning $50,000 from public appearances and various donations.
The Inquisitr picked up that initial report which can be read here.
Following the news report, Channel 3 News sat down with Ramsey, who called the Daily Mail report “bulls**t” while adding “That’s the politically correct word for it.”
Ramsey says his heroic feat has earned him $18,000. He then adds:
“What I’ve made are lots of friends, and I’m borrowing money from lots of friends.”
Ramsey recently spent $8,000 to buy a used BMW and he then moved out of his Seymour Avenue home.
Charles Ramsey says he moved out of his home because too many people were knocking on his door at all hours of the day. The Cleveland hero says he has been staying with friends and family while he searches for a new apartment.
Ramsey in the meantime is building CharlesRamseyLive.com where he hopes to sell merchandise with his likeness. He hasn’t been searching for a new job because of his upcoming project. Apparently self-employed equals jobless.
Speaking about watching the first video of the women he rescued he tells the network:
“I ran out of Kleenex. What did you think? You also ran out of Kleenex. What did Oprah think? She also ran out of Kleenex. That’s how it goes — the whole world ran out of Kleenex.”
Ramsey jokes about not having a hard time “not finding a job.”
We’re not really sure how The Daily Mail could have twisted his very direct words in a video interview, but we’d be interested to hear more.
