Joseph Gordon-Levitt Eyed For ‘Doctor Strange’ Movie [Rumor]

Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt being considered for the lead role in Doctor Strange ?

It’s no secret that Marvel is currently putting together a movie based on the mystical comic book character. Although the studio hasn’t made any official announcements about the project as of this writing, it’s currently believed the Premium Rush star could be the man for the job.

According to the folks at Latino Review , Marvel really wants Joseph Gordon-Levitt to tackle the lead role in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie. Whether or not there’s any truth to these reports remains to be seen.

While some believed that Star Trek Into Darkness star Benedict Cumberbatch would end up landing the role, the website insists that Marvel wants the Don Jon director for the proposed big screen adaptation.

Is there any sort of truth to this internet rumor? At this stage in the game, it’s really anybody’s guess. Since nothing official has been handed down by the boys and girls at Marvel, it’s best to take this rumor with a grain of salt. However, the idea of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Doctor Strange on the big screen is definitely intriguing.

This isn’t the first Marvel movie the former 3rd Rock from the Sun star has been attached to in recent months. Cinema Blend points out that the young actor was rumored for a role in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy . However, the part ended up going to Chris Pratt.

Word on the proverbial street is that Marvel is set to make an official announcement about the Doctor Strange movie during its Comic-Con panel this weekend. However, it’s unlikely that any sort of casting news will accompany the rumored announcement.

In addition to his directorial debut Don Jon , Joseph Gordon-Levitt can be found next in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For . The movie is slated to arrive in theaters next year.
