Lindsay Lohan Will Be Mentored By Oprah, Says Dina Lohan

Oprah Winfrey could serve as Lindsay Lohan’s mentor once she finishes her stint in rehab.

Dina Lohan was in attendance at the Luxury Ladies’ Luncheon over the weekend. When asked about the actress and her upcoming eight-part OWN series, Dina seemed excited that Lindsay would be receiving some assistance from Winfrey.

“Oh, it’s fantastic. If anyone is going to help mentor you, it’s going to be Oprah,” she explained to E! Online during the recent event.

Although the series will put the focus on Lindsay Lohan and her attempt to rebuild her career, Dina revealed that there might be a place on the show for her as well. According to the New York Daily News, the actress’ mom will likely make an appearance at one point or another.

“Possibly! It’s about family… and I’m family” she dished.

The Inquisitr reported last week that Lindsay Lohan would sit down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey following her stay in rehab. The series is expected to premiere on OWN next year.

“OWN will air an exclusive interview with Oprah and Lindsay Lohan that will tape and air in August and an eight-part documentary series with Lindsay for 2014,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Lohan’s road to professional recovery could be a long one. The actress hasn’t made too many friends in the industry over the past few years thanks to her frequently erratic behavior. Not only did she irritate Charlie Sheen on Anger Management, she reportedly caused “psychodrama” on the set of The Canyons.

Director Paul Schrader said that Lindsay Lohan has many of the same traits as screen legend Marilyn Monroe. This apparently includes her inability to show up on time.

“Similarities? Tardiness, unpredictability, tantrums, absences, neediness, psychodrama — yes, all that, but something more, that thing that keeps you watching someone onscreen, that thing you can’t take your eyes off of, that magic, that mystery,” the filmmaker explained.
