Jenny McCarthy Confirmed As ‘The View’ Host
Jenny McCarthy is officially joining The View.
Rumors about McCarthy taking a chair on The View have been circulating for weeks. Elisabeth Hasselbeck filmed her last episode of the ABC talk show last week and now the network is officially ready to confirm Hasselbeck’s replacement.
Jenny McCarthy will officially join Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and the rest of The View crew on September 9, 2013.
US Weekly reports that McCarthy has appeared on The View 17 times, 8 as guest host, and has already developed a good relationship with the rest of the cast.
Walters said in a statement: “Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor… She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View.”
McCarthy added: “I’m beyond thrilled … I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off.”
McCarthy will continue to host Jenny McCarthy Show on VH1.
McCarthy said: I’d also like to give a big thank you to Vh1 for their support and for allowing me to fulfill this lifelong dream.”
The addition of Jenny McCarthy is only one of several changes coming to The View.Joy Behar will be leaving the show this August and Barbara Walters will be leaving next year.
ABC has not named a replacement for Behar or Walters yet.
