George Zimmerman’s gun is being given back to him now that he has been acquitted in the murder of Trayvon Martin.
After acknowledging that Zimmerman will be given his gun back, attorney Mark O’Mara said of carrying the weapon:
“The concealed weapons permit is another matter because that’s a decision by another state agency and they will make that decision.”
O’Mara admitted that his client plans to rearm himself once his Kel Tec 9 pistol is given back. According to the attorney:
“Yes. [There’s] even more reason now, isn’t there? There are a lot of people out there who actually hate him, though they shouldn’t.”
George Zimmerman’s gun won’t be his only protection; he also wears a bullet proof vest when he travels into public.
According to O’Mara:
“I thidnk that he feels truly in his heart that if he did not have that weapon that night he might not be here…. [He] would have continued to get beat even though he was screaming for help.”
Speaking about claims that Zimmerman will soon face civil lawsuits, O’Mare gloats:
“I think there are going to be a number of civil suits. I would be very surprised if any of those civil suits are filed against George Zimmerman and we welcome them.”
O’Mare has also indicated that George Zimmerman may file lawsuits of his own:
“There are a number of events that happened during this case and the way certain people handled it that we may need to hold responsible. We’ll see.”
In the meantime, George Zimmerman is unable to find a job, and his attorney believes he may need to move to another part of the country.
Do you think George Zimmerman’s gun should be concealed and carried now that he has been acquitted? Can he find work in another part of the country?
