Carly Rae Jepsen Reacts To Awful First Pitch On Twitter [Video]
Carly Rae Jepsen didn’t have her best stuff on the mound Sunday when she threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays’ game. The 28-year-old singer warmed up before taking the field, but it didn’t help much after she produced one of the worst pitches in the pregame tradition’s history.
MLB fans and analyst love poking fun at celebrities who open games with the ceremonial first pitch and Jepsen’s struggles have raised all the wrong questions. Nobody wants to be the “worst of all-time,” but the Canadian musician is well on her way after rolling the pitch past the first base line before it crashed into a camera.
To make matters worse, Jepsen was actually quite successful with the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles’ game earlier this year. She threw one across the plate in the air that day, but Sunday was a completely different story.
The video replay is an easy way to break down the errant throw by Carly Rae Jepsen. Her release was way off, which led to the bad pitch that has become an instant hit on the web.
Since the laughable incident, Jepsen has taken to Twitter and she’s having a little fun with the entire ordeal. Even her family has joined in on the joking as she posted a photo of a text conversation with her brother in which he says, “#sticktoyourdayjob.”
So apparently I made ESPN with my fail of a pitch. Lol- Daddy must be so proud.

As you can see, her family is enjoying the moment just as much as anyone, though “daddy” could be shaking his head for all we know. Nevertheless, she won’t have the chance to live this down for quite some time.
Did Carly Rae Jepsen set herself up for a lifetime of baseball jokes after her first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays’ game on Sunday?
