Halle Berry Marries Olivier Martinez In French Chateau
Halle Berry is married to Olivier Martinez. The rumors have been flying that the couple would tie the knot this weekend.
People is reporting that the 46-year-old pregnant Catwoman star and the 47-year-old French actor were married in a chateau in France on Saturday afternoon.
Halle Berry’s rep confirmed that the couple was married at a ceremony attended by about 60 people, including family and close friends.
US Weekly talked to a source who said that the Berry-Martinez wedding was fairly down-to-earth despite the A-list bride, who won an Oscar for Best Actress in 2002 for Monster’s Ball.
Their local source said that “everyone was very discreet because it was a show business wedding.”
But apparently it wasn’t too hard to figure out what was going on because the wedding party used a number of white limousines.
A civil ceremony was followed by a religious one in the chapel on the chateau’s grounds. The party included dinner, dancing, and a fireworks show.
It’s a third marriage for Halle Berry. According to OMG Yahoo!, Berry said in 2007 that she would never marry again.
Her first two marriages were brief and ended horribly. After her first marriage to baseball player David Justice ended in 1997, she said that she considered suicide.
Her second husband, Eric Benét, sought treatment for sex addiction less than two years after they were married. They were divorced in less than four years.
In June Berry and Martinez announced that they were expecting a baby boy. The pregnancy, but not the child’s gender, had already been widely reported in April.
Berry admitted that having a second child at the age of 46 was completely unexpected. “I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful,” she said.
It sounds like congratulations are due now that Halle Berry has married Olivier Martinez.
