Oprah Lands Lindsay Lohan Post-Rehab Interview
Oprah has an all-access pass to interview Lindsay Lohan once the disgraced actress gets done with her latest stint in rehab.
But that’s not all. Oprah and the OWN Network will have an eight-episode docu-series dedicated to following Lohan while she works to rebuild her career and stay healthy (and clean).
The sit-down interview is set to happen in August, while the docu-series will air in 2014 (presumably to give Lohan time to put her life back together after rehab), according to Entertainment Weekly.
Lohan, 27, is currently serving a 90-day court-ordered stint in rehab, but she is supposed to be let go on July 31. The stint was part of her plea deal surrounding misdemeanor charges from a car accident in June 2012. Her first post-rehab appearance is expected to be at The Canyons premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Oprah landing the first interview with Lindsay Lohan post-rehab is a huge score, let alone the mini documentary, a first for Lohan in several years.
While the actress has turned down several unscripted project offers over the years, it appears Lohan may be interested in a change, if only to make Oprah’s day. Instead, Lohan has chosen to keep with scripted roles, like in Liz & Dick, The Canyons, and a guest appearance in Glee.
E! Online notes that the interview and docu-series will likely mirror the interview Oprah had with Lance Armstrong last year, talking about the former cyclist’s struggles with doping and how it costed him his seven Tour de France titles. Oprah also spoke with Rihanna about her relationship with Chris Brown and spoke with Whitney Houston’s family after the singer’s sudden, tragic death.
Along with an interview with Oprah, Lindsay Lohan is expected to move from Los Angeles to New York, per her mother’s latest information.
