Halle Berry To Star In The Indie Comedy ‘Mother’
Halle Berry is all set to star in the independent comedy Mother.
The actress will produce and tackle the lead role in the upcoming motion picture. I Know What You Did Last Winter director Emilio Ferrari has been tapped to helm the feature.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Halle Berry will star as a woman who leaves her mobster fiance on the day of their wedding. In order to lay low, she pretends to be the mother of a young man she meets on the streets. All sorts of hilarity is expected to ensue.
The film is reportedly in the same vein as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Although Halle Berry has signed on for the indie comedy, it’s unknown who will play the mobster or the young man. Filming is expected to begin next year.
According to Variety, Halle Berry is busy still shooting Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. The director recently revealed on Twitter that the sequel still had around two months of filming to complete. The movie should arrive in theaters next summer.
Following a string of financial disappointments, Berry seems to be back on the right track. Her 2013 thriller The Call was a modest success for TriStar earlier this year.
The $13 million thriller ended up generating around $51 million during its theatrical jaunt across North America. Rumors of a sequel started popping up a few months ago, though it’s unclear if the project is moving forward.
The Inquisitr previously reported that Halle Berry and fiance Olivier Martinez are expected to tie the knot this weekend. Since these rumors haven’t been confirmed in any official capacity just yet, you might want to hold off buying the couple any expensive wedding gifts. This will mark the third marriage for the Could Atlas star.
