Summer Glau Signs On For CW’s ‘Arrow’
Summer Glau has reportedly signed on for the second season of the CW’s Arrow.
The network has found a hit with the small screen adventures of the classic DC superhero. Although he might not be the Green Arrow character comic book fans may remember, the re-imagining has proven to be quite popular with the younger generation.
According to UPI, Summer Glau will sign on for a regular role in the second season of Arrow. The 31-year-old actress will play Isabel Rochev, the Vice President of Acquisitions for Stellmoor International. That probably makes perfect sense to those who religiously watch the program.
The character is being described in an official capacity as “enigmatically beautiful and professionally dangerous.” What the spells for the rest of the characters remains to be seen.
Isabel Rochev isn’t the first DC Comics character to make an appearance on the CW’s Arrow. The Hollywood Reporter points out that the drama previously introduced such characters as Deadshot, Malcolm Merlyn, and Deadpool.
Production on the second season of Arrow is already underway. The new episodes are slated to premiere on the network starting October 2. If you need to get caught up on everything that’s happened in the Arrow universe, then you can pick up the entire first season this September.
Although some of us know Summer Glau from her stint on Joss Whedon’s Firefly, the actress has appeared in a number of television series over the years. Her credits include The 4400, The Cape, The Unit, and Dollhouse.
Glau has also appeared in a handful of big-screen endeavors, including Joss Whedon’s Serenity, Sleepover, and the long-delayed comedy Knights of Badassdom. Hopefully Joe Lynch’s fantasy flick will see the light of day before too long.
