Lisa Edelstein is joining Castle.
The House actress will appear in several episodes during the sixth season of the ABC show. According to the The Hollywood Reporter , Edelstein has been booked for a “multi-epsisode” arc starting with the season 6 premiere.
Edelstein will play a “tough and highly skilled federal investigator” named Rachel McCord. Entertainment Weekly reports that the character will play a “pivotal role” in the future of Kate Beckett who is currently deciding whether she should pursue love or her career.
At the end of season five, Beckett was debating whether she should accept Casle’s marriage proposal or relocate to Washington to work at the U.S. attorney general’s office.
It’s unclear how Lisa Edelstein’s character will influence Beckett’s decision.
Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and the rest of the Castle crew started shooting season six this week. ABC’s Castle twitter account has sent out a few pics from the set but it doesn’t look like Edelstein has shown up for work just yet.
Are you excited to see the House actress in a new role on ABC? Do you think Beckett will say yes to Castle.
After shooting the season 5 finale, Fillion said that he didn’t know if Beckett would say yes.
The actor said : “We did not shoot the answer … We did that last day of shooting on a Thursday. Friday, I came in and did some looping … and then left town immediately [to] work in Canada … I’ve not had one email, not one discussion, not a phone call about where things are going, what’s going to happen … So I can’t even spoil anything by accident!”
Since her days on House, Edelstein has appeared in several shows like Scandal and Elementary. She also recently finished up filming a new movie called She Loves Me Not.
