Rebecca Black decides to take a different path in her cover of Miley Cyrus’ hit song, “We Can’t Stop,” giving it a whole new feel.
The Youtube video , posted on July 5, already has 270,015 views. Youtube hit, Jon D recorded alongside Black to create a very mellow, acoustic version of Cyrus’ hit party song.
The latest Miley Cyrus song “We Can’t Stop ” recently broke records on Vevo .
The singer’s latest single has proved to be a hot commodity on the music video website. In fact, “We Can’t Stop” managed to generate 10.7 million views in the first 24 hours of release.
According to producer Mike Will Made It, the singer came up with the idea for the music video after attending what can only be described as an extremely wild party .
The producer told MTV News :
When she heard this song, what made her connect to this song is it reminded her of a specific party, a specific party where she was at. She’s saying real stuff. It’s all real. So it’s not like her trying to force anything or anything like that. It’s like speaking from experience. It’s like a point-of-view record.
In Black’s rendition of Cyrus’ hit song, “We Can’t Stop,” she is seen singing harmonies and dreamily staring into the camera according to Mashable .
“If anything, the YouTube video showcases the two young singers’ musical talents much more than Black’s other songs which relied heavily on Ark Music Factory’s overproduced gimmicks.”
Black made some very obvious changes to the song, other than the lack of twerking and giant teddy bear backpacks.
Black and Jon D. switch up some of the lyrics, choosing to replace Cyrus’ lyrics:
To my home girls here with the big butt Shaking it like we at a strip club Remember only God can judge ya Forget the haters ’cause somebody loves ya And everyone in line in the bathroom Trying to get a line in the bathroom We all so turned up here Getting turned up, yeah, yeah
With something a little more appropriate for Black’s taste:
To my home girls here living it up Feeling alive and in love Remember only god can judge ya Forget the haters, cause somebody loves ya Everyone acting like they know you So fake acting like they so cool We all so turned up ya Getting turned up yeah, yeah
Some comments left on Black’s Youtube video read, “This version is like a billion times better…” and, “Hum, okay. So that version is a thousand times better than the original. It doesn’t make the song like a dirty sex one. Really amazing cover, congrats to you guys, you did a great job!”
Other comments read, “This song should not be sang in acoustic….just saying.”
What do you think of Rebecca Black and her cove r of Miley Cyrus’ hit song, “We Can’t Stop”? Do you like the original party song better or the acoustic version?
