What does James Franco have to do with Veronica Mars ? When the Kickstarter project for the Veronica Mars film started there was no link between the two, but now as we get into production on the actual film, it seems to be the two have more in common than one might think.
It’s being reported by Zap2It that James Franco will be making a cameo in the Veronica Mars film. Franco will of course be appearing as himself. He is said to be one of several celebrity cameos that will take place throughout the film. If that seems random, then fear not because creator Rob Thomas came up with a completely plausible plot line.
Franco will be one of several celebrities in the film that will be a victim to a hidden camera scam. No this isn’t like Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d , instead the camera scam plot line will be about someone hiding hidden cameras inside famous people’s homes and selling the videos for handsome rewards. Of course everyone’s favorite private eye Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) will be fast on this case, and will likely solve it by the film’s end.
Zap2It tried to reach Franco’s reps over the holiday weekend but no one could be reached to confirm the news. This is just one of several projects that James Franco has up his sleeve. It’s been reported that as the actor wraps up Good People with Kate Hudson in London, he will be prepping to direct and star in a William Faulkner adaption of The Sound and the Fury . The latter which he hopes to snag brother Dave Franco for, as well as Mad Men’s Jon Hamm.
As for Veronica Mars they have already added Kristen Bell, Martin Starr, Leighton Meester, Krysten Ritter, Tina Majorino, Dax Shepard, Aaron Ashmore, Chris Lowell, Sam Huntington, Christine Lakin, Max Greenfield, Jason Dohring, and Francis Capra to the cast.
