Seth Meyers Engaged To Longtime Lawyer Love Alexi Ashe

Saturday Night Live funnyman Seth Meyers is engaged to his girlfriend Alexi Ashe.

The upcoming Late Night host popped the question to Ashe, his longtime girlfriend, according to a rep for the couple.

The 39-year-old met his lawyer gal pal at a wedding several years back, and have been together ever since. In 2011, a source said that marriage for the couple was “on the horizon,” with an insider adding that the couple are “incredibly solid” together.

Another source added that Meyers’ proposal was a long time coming.

“He’s very excited for the next phase of his life,” the insider said. “He’s known that she’s The One for awhile, but it was all about timing.”

The right moment apparently came just after Meyers completed his final full season on Saturday Night Live with plans to take over Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night while the host moves up to replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in 2014. Meyers will stay on with SNL as the head writer at least through the fall, but his famous Weekend Update segment will likely be piloted by someone else.

“With Late Night, his schedule will be slowly easing up,” the source said of the couple’s timing. “He wanted to do it after SNL wrapped [because] he didn’t want to be an absentee fiance. Her family loves him.”
