BASE Jumper Goes Off 460-Foot Bridge From Top Of Moving Van [Video]
A BASE jumper soared off a bridge from a moving fan for a death-defying drop of 460 feet that was caught by Epic TV and posted to YouTube earlier this week. Folks, you’re definitely going to want to see this video, so go ahead and click the button.
Do I really have to remind you not to try this at home?
I’m going to have to assume that the team behind this well-planned adventure knew what they were doing when tbeir BASE jumper took off and over the bridge into the green valley below.
But the rest of us are better off popping some popcorn, pouring a glass of wine, and watching the scary action from the comfort of our own home.
Besides, I’m pretty sure that taking off from a moving van is just all kinds of illegal.
A trio of BASE jumpers hit the news in June for a 92-story jump off Chicago’s Trump Towers — which resulted in the release of their surveillance photos by the Chicago Police Department. The perpetrators of that admittedly thrilling stunt will likely be prosecuted for breaking and entering the rooftop area from which they made the jump.
Law enforcement and Trump Tower private security officers seemed embarrassed because they are responsible for securing the structure against terrorists or other violent criminals. However, the BASE jumpers quietly entered the building, jumped, and got away clean.
BASE jumping, parachuting, and hang gliding all have implicit dangers. While the whole point of the sport may be the thrill of putting it all on the line, there is always a risk.
The BASE jumper vaulting off the moving van may be thrilling, but there’s also a more tragic video posted this week in the aftermath of a parasailing accident that hurt both girls in a serious crash.
Have you ever considered training for a stunt like the one performed by the BASE jumper off that bridge?
