Eli Manning, Wife Abby Welcome Baby Girl!
Eli Manning and his wife Abby McGrew have welcomed baby number two into the world.
The New York Giants quarterback and his wife are now parents to a second baby girl, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
The couple, who started off as college sweethearts, announced their second pregnancy back in March.
“We’re all very excited,” said the Louisiana native as he confirmed a second child was on the way, noting that Abby’s due date was in June.
Manning and his wife, who were married in a private ceremony on April 19, 2008 in San José del Cabo, Mexico, are already parents to daughter Ava Frances. The little girl was born March 21, 2011 weighing in at 7 pounds 4 ounces.
Cooper Manning, brother to Eli, told Us before his niece’s birth, “They are going to be great parents! Everyone is excited!”
“I’m just excited for the whole experience,” added the soon-to-be father. “And ready to be a dad.”
Last June, the 32-year-old athlete chatted with Parade.com about his daughter’s sporting skills:
“She’s 14 months so she’s still working on her throwing motion a little bit. She does like playing with footballs, basketballs, and baseballs. One of her first words was ‘balls’. And of course I have a lot of footballs around the house so she’s often picking those up and throwing them. It’s kind of a two-handed toss right now, as expected.”
At that time he also mentioned the idea of growing his family in the future.
“We haven’t quite timed it all out,” he mused. “But we definitely want to have more kids down the road.”
As for his feelings on how fatherhood has changed him? Manning says you never know exactly how things are going to change or how you’ll feel once baby arrives.
“You love your child and just have so many emotions, like coming home at the end of every day and right when I walk in the door I immediately drop everything and look for her, hoping that she’s not taking a nap or sleeping.”
“That you get to run around and play with her a little bit. That’s one of the most exciting things.”
