A woman’s boobs got her booted from a water park, and 43-year-old Madelyn Sheaffer is incensed that wearing a bathing suit to the amusement facility was enough to get her tossed from the place despite it not being particularly revealing.
Madelyn Sheaffer of Independence, Missouri was visiting the Adventure Oasis Water Park Tuesday in a group of five people.
And if you are a woman with curves , you’re aware that sometimes you’re accused of being provocative or improperly covered when you’re just … wearing clothes — which is what Sheaffer believes happened to her at Adventure Oasis.
KSHB reports:
“After Sheaffer got into the pool with her niece and nephew, she said two employees approached her and told her she had to put on shorts because her bottoms were too small. Sheaffer then asked if she could talk to their supervisor. The supervisor told her she needed to cover up or leave the park.”
According to the woman ejected from the park for her bikini, others were similarly clad but did not face the same sanction. Sheaffer added :
“I just felt like I was singled out … I felt like it was both age and body discrimination and I felt like I could look around me and I could see a handful of other girls half my age, wearing the same size swimming suit and not being singled out and told to put on clothes or leave.”
On Facebook , Sheaffer went into more detail about the discrimination she believes she faced in being ejected from the Adventure Oasis water park :
I am a 43 year old woman who did not have the confidence, or the body, to put on a bikini until was 40 years old. I will not be discriminated against because I look too good in one. Long story short, I called the media, and will be on tonight’s local 41 news. Several people walked out while I waited outside for the newsman, and told me how ridiculous this all was, and complimented me on my swimsuit.
After Sheaffer alleged she’d been ejected from the water park, the City of Independence indicated that the park’s manager has discretion to decide whether bathing suits are park-appropriate.
Do you think Sheaffer’s bikini was too revealing for a water park, or was the decision to eject her from Adventure Oasis unfair?
