Pro-Abortion Supporters Chant ‘Hail Satan’ While Anti-Abortion Protestors Sing Amazing Grace [Video]
As the battle over a woman’s right to choose heats up in Texas, a shocking video has emerged of pro-abortion protestors screaming “Hail Satan” at a group of pro-life supporters. The pro-life group was assembled peacefully in the State Capitol singing a round of Amazing Grace. Texas Blogger Adam Cahn was on the scene and managed to get a video of the “Hail Satan” chanting. Supporters of both sides of the abortion debate have gathered recently in Texas to protest what is being hailed as the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the country. The video can be watched here.
Texas Governor Rick Perry called a special session of the Texas legislature to vote on the new abortion laws. The proposed bill would make abortion illegal in Texas after 20 weeks of pregnancy, and would require that the procedure, even if it is a nonsurgical abortion, be performed at ambulatory surgical centers. The law would also mandate that doctors who perform abortions obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles.
Of the 42 abortion clinics that are open in Texas, only five would meet the current requirements of the bill or be located close enough to a metropolitan area to meet the distance requirements to be within 30 miles of a hospital. Similar regulations have passed in other states but all are being held up while the laws are being challenged in court. In Mississippi, only one abortion clinic has remained open while their new laws are being challenged in court.
Texas has been on the front page of the entire country recently due to the 12 hour filibuster by Texas State Legislator Wendy Davis which forced the Governor to call a second special session of the legislature in order to get the law passed. Democrats are currently doing all in their power to avoid the bill coming to a vote, where the Republican dominated Legislature is sure to pass the new abortion restrictions.
