Paris Jackson has been rejected by a rehab facility in Utah.
The 15-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson has been receiving treatment at the UCLA Medical Center since her early June 2013 suicide attempt. Recently, a request to be transferred to a facility in Utah has been denied.
According to TMZ , Paris’ biological mother, Debbie Rowe, had researched adolescent facilities all around the country and was eager to have her daughter moved to Utah. However, this request was rejected because the facility fears an “onsalught” of paparazzi seeking images of the troubled teen.
Sources say administrators believe the celebrity photogs will invade the privacy of not only Paris but of other patients.
Rowe, however, is not pleased with this decision and it has been reported that people connected to the young girl are now urging the facility to reconsider the transfer request.
At this time, Paris remains “stuck” in the eating disorders wing at UCLA, despite the fact that she does not suffer from this problem.
“It’s just a tragedy,” Rowe is telling her friends. “This girl needs help.”
Paris has been residing at the California facility since attempting to commit suicide by cutting her arms and ingesting an overdose of painkillers. Staff at UCLA say they will not permit Paris to leave rehab because they believe she may try to kill herself again, should she be allowed to return home.
On Saturday, June 29, Paris’ mother tweeted a message of thanks from the teen, to her fans:
“My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and support,” she writes.
“She is strong like her father.”
Yesterday, July 1, Rowe shared that she was picking up tea and spending the day with her daughter again.
Recent reports made it look like Paris would be leaving the hospital soon , however, with news of her mom on the hunt for a new facility, it seems as though she’s there to stay.
Family members, Jackie Jackson and Marlon Jackson told E! Online that Paris is “doing wonderful” and “should be out soon”.
Do you think Paris Jackson’s rehab stint is coming to an end? Or will she remain at UCLA?
