Elle Macpherson doesn’t get completely nude for her recent Harper’s Bazaar cover, but she does recreate her famous pose from Playboy magazine.
The model, who is still beautiful at 49, posed for Playboy nearly 20 years ago in 1994. Macpherson recreated the iconic cover shoot for Harper’s Bazarr’s “The Body At 50” Issue.
Bazaar editor Kellie Hush said : “She is in incredible shape for a woman about to turn 50 … When I approached Elle she immediately said she would love to work on this project with Bryan Adams, who is her dear friend, a music megastar and an accomplished photographer. It was a collaboration match made in heaven. I hope Bryan Adams’ images for Bazaar will be as iconic as the 1994 Playboy cover was in its time.”
This isn’t the only magazine cover for the soon-to-be 50-year-old model this month. (She turns 50 on March 29, 2014). MacPherson also posed for the magazine Red in her bikini.
Macpherson said : ‘If people say, ‘Look, she is old’, well I am! I’m nearly 50! Of course I am not going to look the same as when I was 20.”
Macpherson, who earned the nickname “the body” during her modeling heyday, said that she tried taking botox in the past but admitted that she didn’t like the way it made her look. Now, Elle goes for a much more natural look.
Elle said: “Some people look fantastic, but every time I’ve had it done I look worse. Plus, I just do not want to put that stuff in my body.”
