Neil Patrick Harris is getting married! Eventually.

The star of How I Met Your Mother said that it was “inevitable” that he would get married to his partner David Burtka.

Harris and Burtka already have two children together and now that the Defense of Marriage ACT has been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court the actor said that it was only a matter of time until he walks down the aisle.

Harris said: “Certainly, we have children and marriage is an appropriate thing to do [as] a part of their well being, so I’m sure it will be inevitable—and awesome!”

Burtka and Harris have been married for a few years now but they haven’t been started planning their wedding just yet. Harris said that the biggest obstacle right now is finding time to plan the wedding.

The actor said: “We’re about to move to New York, so it’s a tricky situation. I don’t know if [the wedding] would be an East Coast or West Coast thing.”

Harris was thrilled with the recent Supreme Court rulings but the actor said that he tried not to make too big of a deal about it.

Harris told the Huffington Post: “I’m not one who jumps around and cheers and screams because I thought that was inevitable and was going to happen. It’s logical. If you look at public opinion polls, everyone, the majority of people, are very for people that fall in love with each other being able to own that.”
