‘Justice League’ Will Not Have Christian Bale
Christian Bale says he will not be in the Justice League film.
Rumors have mounted aplenty since the announcement of DC Comics’ own equivalent of Marvel’s The Avengers. Justice League is bubbling with hearsay and for the moment we know one thing about the film’s Batman actor. It won’t be Christian Bale.
Fans may not like hearing it, but Christian Bale will not play Batman again. In general, we should be happy that he gave us three decent Batman films to begin with, a first for the live action film series. Only Michael Keaton came close to the record with two films.
Henry Cavill, the actor who played Superman in the first critically acclaimed film for the character, Man of Steel, has said something similar, though his answer was a little more hopeful. He said we should really let the studio take their time with Justice League and make sure it drops on the same level as The Avengers. Otherwise, why make it?
After all, DC Comics has a history of ruining characters with the films they starred in, and it wasn’t until Christopher Nolan came along with Batman Begins that the curse seemed to have broken. But we shouldn’t forget that Green Lantern was still a CG filled joke and we aren’t out of the woods yet.
Christian Bale told Entertainment Weekly about the film Justice League:
“We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy. [Christopher Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying ‘We’re about to make the third.’ We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well. I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it. It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.”
In other words, Christian Bale will definitely not be in the Justice League film, but he hopes the next actor can pick up where he left off.
Who do you think should replace Christian Bale as Batman in Justice League?
