Neil Patrick Harris Says Marriage Is ‘Inevitable’ With Partner
Neil Patrick Harris recently opened up about the thought of marrying his partner David Burtka. The two have been engaged for around seven years and he believes the time may come pretty soon.
“Certainly, we have children and marriage is an appropriate thing to do [as] a part of their well being, so I’m sure it will be inevitable—and awesome!” Harris told E! News on Saturday.
Though he’s sure it’s coming, he isn’t too positive as to where it will happen.
“We’re about to move to New York so it’s a tricky situation,” he added. “I don’t know if it would be an east coast or west coast thing.”
He also talked about the recent Supreme Court rulings last week that crushed California’s Prop. 8 and put a stop to DOMA.
“I’m not one who jumps around and cheers and screams because I thought that was inevitable and was going to happen,” Neil Patrick Harris explained. “It’s logical. If you look at public opinion polls, everyone, the majority of people, are very for people that fall in love with each other being able to own that.”
He may not be jumping up and down over the rulings, but he did take to Twitter shortly after the news came out to have a little fun with the situation. The popular actor is no slouch on screen and he’s regularly considered a comedic genius, which he obviously has translated to social media.

That was just the start as he followed it up with his thoughts on Prop. 8 being dismantled.
