Cesc Fabregas Says Selling Messi Is ‘Unthinkable’ For Barcelona
Cesc Fabregas spoke out recently about his thoughts on the latest chatter that FC Barcelona would have think about parting ways with Lionel Messi after bringing in Neymar. The club’s newest striker from Brazil is without a doubt one of the premier talents in the world, but Messi is already a legend at the age of 26.
“It is unthinkable for Messi not to be part of this club,” Fabregas said in an interview with Sport. “Leo is the most important player – he has no equal. Remove Messi and you may not lose everything, but you do run out of a large part of what makes this team tick.”
He has a great point, as Messi is the most marketable footballer in the game and he’s also going to help you win on the pitch. His skills are undeniable and Neymar has yet to perform in La Liga.
Neymar came to Barcelona through a summer transfer with Santos FC in Brasileiro and he’s considered one of the top strikers next to Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.
“I think this team deserves everything he has gained,” Fabregas said about Neymar. “He has been chased by almost all of our rival teams in the world. It will definitely to be a good environment for him to learn a lot and he can help us to win and achieve our goals.”
The club is looking to compete in the Champions League next season and a move for Neymar will definitely help their cause. He’s already tearing up the Confederations Cup for Brazil and he’ll take to the pitch on Sunday night for the final against Spain.
Cesc Fabregas has also been rumored to be on the move this summer, but he’s shut the talk down and has no plans of leaving.
Do you think FC Barcelona would be crazy to sell Messi after bringing in Neymar?
