Cher Opens Up About Twitter Feud With Amanda Bynes
Cher was recently called out by Amanda Bynes on Twitter for being “ugly and flop,” but it never seemed to get under her skin. She eventually responded to Bynes comments by saying, “Who’s that?”
One thing led to another and the Twitter sensation in Bynes eventually tweeted, “This is my twitter. I say whatever I want. Thanks!”
Her response led the popular singer to send the 27-year-old an apology which ended the Twitter feud once and for all. Ever since the exchange, many fans are wondering why she apologized in the first place.
It was Bynes who started the entire ordeal, making an apology pretty unnecessary. The 67-year-old has recently opened up about the Twitter spat and she says apologizing wass the simple way to move on.
“I never understood the thing about not saying you’re sorry because it’s so easy…it doesn’t take any time and it just dissolves all the bad feelings,” Cher told Alicia Quarles of E! News. “It just lets it go, and we can’t hold on to that kind of stuff. It makes you sick.”
Her reasoning behind the apology makes perfect sense as its much easier to move on instead of prolonging a social media battle for everyone to see. The decision was more than likely the right one, but she’s still very supportive of young stars who are causing a scene on a daily basis.
“I feel a lot of compassion for these young kids that are growing up that don’t really understand exactly what’s going on,” she added. “It’s really rough. That’s why I do a lot of tweeting…I feel kind of like a mother. It’s something that gives them a little insight into things and it doesn’t make them think that all grownups are the enemy.”
Do you think Amanda Bynes’ Twitter feud with the one-and-only Cher was deserving of an apology?
