Suits star Patrick J. Adams recently admitted to “fangirling” when he learned that Game of Thrones actress Michelle Fairley would be filming a guest role on his USA legal drama.

Fans of Game of Thrones know Fairley for her role as Stark family matriarch Catelyn. After her character was ( SPOILERS ) brutally murdered at the end of the penultimate episode of the third season , it was announced that she’d be heading to Suits for a guest spot.

Adams, a Game of Thrones fan, completely geeked-out in her presence .

He tells Access Hollywood that the infamous “Red Wedding” episode hadn’t yet aired when Fairley showed up on the set of Suits , and that he sensed something bad was about to happen.

“I did not know what was going to happen to her, but I had suspected [something] because in my fangirling, it was like trying to make conversation — ‘When are you going back to work? When are you gonna do that?’ And she was just like… ‘Ah. Well. We’ll go back …’ You could see her kind of stumbling over it and then I saw it in her eye and I just was like, ‘Stop. No more. I know,’” he said.

“So then I assumed that she was gonna go and I was like, ‘That’s OK. That’s OK to know. I don’t know how it’s gonna happen.’ And then, I obviously saw the Red Wedding the other day and it wasn’t just her, but the entire army of the North and it brutalized me and the only thing that got me through was being like, ‘Well, at least I get to go work with Michelle the next morning. That’s the nicest thing about it,’” he said.

Suits executive producer Aaron Korsh revealed that everyone on the set of the show are huge Game of Thrones fans and that they talk about the show all the time. He also said it was part of what convinced him to bring Fairley on for Suits :

“Michelle has a steel and a vulnerability in her that lets us question if she is behind what she is being accused of or not,” he said.

It’s also worth mentioning that Conleth Hill, another Game of Thrones star, also appeared on Suits in the second season.
