2010 College Football Preview: Arkansas Razorbacks
The Arkansas Razorbacks football program is on the rise, and they will enter the 2010 CFB season as the #21 ranked team according to the Sporting News. Head Coach Bobby Petrino is an offensive genius and it really seems like he and QB Ryan Mallet can get into a grove and run the offense in a number of different ways. With that being said life is tough for teams in the SEC West. However Mallet has a number of weapons to deploy to help this team win. NFL draft pundits will be watching Ryan Mallet this year who may bolt for the NFL following his junior season.
They key date on their schedule is October 9th, when the Auburn Tigers come to town. This is all about mid season SEC West teams whose programs have been rising. Whoever wins this game will have an upper hand towards winning this division of the SEC. With two lightweights on the schedule early this team has to get off to a fast start. They get Alabama at home on September 25th, and we shall see how strong they are then.
So Mallet is a 6-7 238 pound QB with a NFL arm and this team will return nine starters on offense. They should be ready to make a big run. On the defense DE Jake Bequette, DT Zach Stadther, LB Jerry Franklin all return. They also feature next big thing Cobi Hamilton at WR. He did catch 19 balls or 347 yards as a freshman. Of course the Razorbacks are loaded at receiver so he has his work cut out for him.
