Boston Bruins Fans Drown Their Stanley Cup Sorrows In Porn
Boston Bruins fans turned to porn to ease their sorrows over losing the Stanley Cup and the prospect of zero hockey for the next three months.
Bostonians went completely NSFW with their post-loss “alright, what else is on” haze, turning to online porn while Chicago Blackhawks fans gloated on social media.
According to PornHub.com, Boston traffic to the site spiked following Game 6 on Monday night after keeping an eye on the analytics from both the Bruins’ home town and Chicago.
From roughly 8pm to 11pm, traffic was down in both cities as fans were glued to their TVs for the game, but right around the time the Blackhawks took the Stanley Cup for a victory lap, visits to PornHub from Boston skyrocketed by 21 percent.
Now, there are probably a ton of jokes to be made here about Boston drowning its woes in porn, and we can probably nab extra points for making hockey terms pull double duty as double entendres, but I’m not one to pour salt in the wound (plus I’m from the Chicago area, so unbiased journalism would be compromised).
Instead, we’ll just show you PornHub’s analytics graph, followed by a statement from the site on the phenomenon.
Last night marked the end of the NHL Championships, and much like the NBA Finals did, the battle for the Cup managed to take users away from their beloved porn once more. Until, of course the end of the game marking the Bruins’ loss, which saw all of Boston turning to Pornhub to take out some of that pent up aggression.
That’s right — the statisticians at Pornhub.com carefully analyzed each hour of the game to track traffic changes in Chicago, Boston, and across the US by the hour; comparing each location relative to the rest of the country.
PornHub has statisticians?!
Are you mourning the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup loss? You didn’t turn to porn last night, did you?
