A family were covered in human excrement when an airplane emptied its toilets over their Toronto home.
Emma Gilfillan-Giannakos was playing in her yard with her daughters, eight year-old Sierra, and 20-month-old, Lexi, when they were suddenly showered with a mysterious brown liquid that mysteriously fell from the sky.
The rancid substance covered their entire home, their patio, and swimming pool, which is located just 12 miles away from the Pearson International Airport , in Toronto, Canada.
Emma explained, “I had no idea what it was. I thought maybe a rainstorm, but it only lasted a second or two.” Perplexed by this bizarre incident she then decided to smell the liquid, revealing, “I stuck a finger in the water and I smelled it. It was poop.”
Fortunately, the entire Giannakos clan were undercover when the faeces fell to the floor, however their pet dog was outside when it struck and got covered in the mess.
The family have since had to spend close to $5,000 on replacing the water in their pool, whilst they have also cleaned their patio thoroughly too.
After the couple reported the incident to transports officials, Emma and her husband, Chris, have been told that an investigation is currently underway, with the bosses speculating that the poo leaked from a plane that was landing.
Mary Durette, a spokeswoman for transport Canada , claims that a valve malfunction is the probably reason for the disturbing scenario, as planes usually empty their toilets at special airport facilities.
Durette stated, “If this happens, the liquid seeping from valves freezes and adheres to the outside of the aircraft when the aircraft is flying at high altitudes. As the aircraft starts its descent and the atmosphere gets warmer, the ice will start to melt and pieces will detach themselves from the aircraft.”
